Early this year, NAHSAG in partnership with The Rockson Foundation organised the maiden edition of Miss health Ghana 2019 on the theme
"Achieving The Universal Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health: The Role of Women in Health"
The pageantry saw ten contenstants across all health institutions in the country with Miss. Ohemaa Achiaa Agyekum emerging as the winner.
In line with her obligation to project the pageantry and draw awareness to the impact this pageantry has on women and the society at large, Miss. Ohemaa with Miss Rockson paid a courtesy call to his Excellency the Ex President of the Republic of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.
This courtesy call was to introduce the pageantry as well as spell out various interventions that has been made since crowned.
Miss Ohemma stated that, she understands the full brunt of the responsibilities she has to bear as the face of health students in Ghana. More importantly, she stressed her dedication to champion the course of health education in the country. Emphasis was placed on her sexual education in various Senior High Schools, Various talk shows on health and Reproductive health.
Acknowledging how all sectors of the economy revolves around health, she remains commited to ensure health education remains a topmost priority. The role women play in socialization and societal continuity is a huge one, and this is an area she pledges her commitment.
Ex President Rawlings, having been impressed with this developement, expressed his excitement as well as support and commitment to the activities of Miss Health Ghana.
This courtesy call has been phenomenal in the sense that, it has served as a bedrock upon which many other interactions and decisions will be made in the near future.
