On Thursday, August 1st, 2019, a delegation from the National Health Students Association of Ghana led by the President, Mr. Franklin Nyanzu met the Registrar of Allied Health Professions council registrar, Dr. Samuel Yaw Opoku to among other things discuss the aftermath of the international health students summit and the welfare of Allied health students in general.

The team used the opportunity to thank him for honouring their invitation to be part of the International Health Students Summit.

In addition the president of NAHSAG made a follow up on the ministry's recruitment of Allied health graduates and what the council has done pertaining to that. The Registrar revealed to the team that financial clearance has been secured for some Allied Health graduates who are in good standing with the council, the list of these graduates has been sent to the Ministry for them to work on as soon as possible. He added that the ministry cannot employ all the unemployed Allied graduates at a go but rather bit by bit hence the need for our members to exercise patience.

He concluded that the council and NAHSAG are on the same page working to make sure that Allied Health graduates are employed after thier training therefore the need for both parties to work hand in hand. He also expressed his gratitude for the citation presented to him by the association.

Thank You!
